This is the venue that helped mold American motocross into what it is today. It is a historic track celebrating 50 years of existence. That’s a lot of moto’s! Every year I look forward to seeing the best riders in the world compete for the privilege of being added to the list of past champions.

Wolf Mountain Nature Centre

We had Will give our group a tour. He is so knowledgable and passionate about his wolves it was endearing. I brought a group of high school kids there and they were all very happy they went and said wonderful things about the tour. They were great to work with to schedule our trip, so nice! I couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough. Truly dedicated to preserving our environment and saving these special animals. I think he may have impressed the need for sharing our world with other species. It is far more effective than sitting in a classroom. Very informative for the kids. The adults loved it too!

Colonia Theatre

First time to the very vintage Colonia Theater was an absolute delight! This historic small town theater exudes charm. But don’t be fooled by the vintage facade- this theater shows first run movies. Built in 1914, the theater retains many of its original appointments however it was divided into two theaters years ago. No worries, the screen is plenty big for the full movie experience. If you are “of a certain age” this theater will take you back to your youth! The lobby is home to a huge old time projector and assorted movie memorabilia, and vintage movie posters adorn the walls. This was our first time to the movies since before Covid. We saw A Man Called Otto and we loved the ambiance of the theater as much as we enjoyed the movie! We have found our new go-to movie theater. Another plus is supporting a small independent theater- yay!
So much vintage character in rural Chenango county, a stroll through downtown Norwich is an experience not to be missed…and while you’re in town, be sure to catch a movie at the Colonia!

Northeast Classic Car

My boyfriend and I drove from Manhattan to Norwich (3.5 hours) and we would do it again. The collection is the nicest one I’ve seen to date, everything is restored beautifully, and the museum itself is immaculate. The layout of the vehicles, the informational plaques, and the mannequins with the corresponding fashion for the decade are a nice touch. They have a small section of motorcycles amongst the cars. Those were also cool to see.

Entry to the museum is $12 for adults, and it is quite large. The displays all flow into one another nicely. We walked through the museum in about 2-2.5 hours. The volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable. The day I visited, Sunday 5/15/2022, Stu Spencer was there and he is the nicest. They recently had some renovations done. They have a small gift shop with some interesting books, model cars, and sweet trinkets.

We’ve been to a few car museums/exhibits and without a doubt, this one is the best we’ve seen hands down. Highly recommend!
